Revathi Ramaswami, 76 yrs of age, is the mother of R Vijayasarathi and is also an aunt of Shashikant. Both Shashi and Vijayasarathi have an impeccable diabetes reversal success story of managing their diabetes on Indian LCHF / Keto diet.
Revathi has a diabetes history of over two decades. Before she set out on the Indian vegetarian keto diet, the details were as follows:
Medications & A1C:
- Voglibose 0.3 mg three times a day
- Glimepiride + Metformin 2/500 twice a day
- Vildagliptin 50 twice a day.
- Nebivolol 2.5 mg
- Telmisartan 40mg + Hydrochlorothiazide at 12.5 mg
- A1C: 8.9%
After four months of Vegetarian Keto diet
- Voglibose, Vildagliptin, Glimepiride — eliminated
- Nebivolol — eliminated
- Weight Loss — 9 kg
- A1C : 7.3
Agreed, going by just A1C, this is a work-in-progress. But, the most important achievement is that 7.3 is after dropping voglibose, vildagliptin, glimepiride and despite dropping one antihypertensive pill, blood pressure remains normal.
Last, but not the least, this is the fourth success story within family / near relatives. Three have been linked from this article. Shashikant has been the motivating force.
With just on metformin this is a remarkable recovery. Age is no barrier for making the switch and this story also proves that LCHF / Keto works even on diabetics with a long-standing history of diabetes.
